“What a wonderful thought it is that some of the best days of our lives haven’t happened yet.”unknown

Isn't it wonderful how some people just come into our lives and from day one feel like family? Years ago, a lady from our church asked me if I would like to write letters to one of her friends in Missouri- Megan, a young teenage girl just my age.  Young me was kinda nervous but excited at the thought of having a new friend so sure enough, we started emailing and instantly hit it off. Honestly, I was sure no one could be more alike in interests and current life experiences. Years past and visits between our states were few, but always good. Quickly, both our families begin to feel like our own families (I still call Meg's family "my Missouri family".) and catching up with them was like we were never apart. Last summer, Meg got to travel up here to be here to help while my parents were in China. We had a grand time that week entertaining little ones and keeping the farm alive. I'll never forget that sunday while she was here, Meg got a text from her sister Emily.. someone had asked to court her!

Fast forward a few months- Emily and her man Derrek were falling in LOVE. It was always a treat to hear from Megan or Emily about how things were progressing.  One day in Janurary, Megan sent me a text that something big was about to happen that night.. Derrek was going to propose to Emily! I squealed and waited impatiently for the ring photo messages.  Boy, they were happy! There is something so sweet about watching two people wait for the right person and fall in love for a lifetime.

Enjoy some my favorite images from their big day -  hopefully they will give you a glimpse of their beautiful story, and just how wonderful our God is. Thank you Derrek and Emily for asking me to document it- I truly couldn't be more honored. Love you both to pieces!

Emily, you are beyond gorgeous.

Emily's dad has a big heart for his girls and I know without a doubt, this was a big deal for him to give his first baby girl away. It was so sweet to watch him see his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Emily kept saying "No tears Dadddy, no tears."

Then it was off to the wedding venue for the long awaited first look with the groom-

The stunning bridal party-

This kid so reminds me of Opie from Andy Griffith! And what a little charmer-

The lighting couldn't have been more gorgeous for their ceremony. Love how God blessed the little details!

The bride was brought to the ceremony in her Daddy's old farm truck, Gus. Such a precious moment.

Moments after the ceremony made for lots of happy tears and hugs. "You're family now!"

PART TWO

"So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” Matthew 19:6
